Food and Drink Funky bars and sophisticated restaurants are plentiful, as are street vendors for casual snacking. Also choose from a wide selection of international food options. However, the traditional Thai cuisine is a must. With an individual slant on every restaurant menu, you can sample the delights of an abundance of fresh seafood, specialty Thai curry and endless variety of fresh fruit and vegetables. A daily mango shake is a favorite with all visitors to Koh Lanta. TransportMoving around the island is made easy with an abundance of local transport. The experience of a \'tuk-tuk\', which is a small scooter with side car attached, is a fun and inexpensive means of getting around. In addition, island tours are available from many of the tour operators. Alternatively you can hire a scooter (or motorbike for the experienced rider) which will allow you freedom to explore the delights that the whole island has to offer. Scooters may even be hired with out without proof of license. |
